Hey Guys,
Today I'm going to share my thoughts on the Jaclyn Cosmetics Jaclyn's Holiday Kit. It came with 4 of her most popular products. Three of the products were full sized so I thought that this set was a great deal. Keep reading to see swatches and hear about my thoughts on each product.
Jaclyn Cosmetics Jaclyn's Holiday Kit $48.00

Mood Light Luminous Powder in Carats ($32.00 value)

"Bring out that inner glow with the Jaclyn Cosmetics Mood Light Luminous Powder. Here is what is said about this product on the Ulta site:

- Luminous powder
- Blurs imperfections
- Key Ingredients
- Diamond and rose quartz powders"
On to my thoughts:
This powder was the main reason why I bought this set. The full sized powder retails for $32.00 and it is included in this set with 3 other products for $48.00. That is a great deal in itself. This set was also on sale during Cyber Monday so I got it for even less. I already own this powder in the shade "Dew Me" which is an iced nude glow. This set comes with Carats which is a soft golden glow. It is a shade darker which I figured if it is too dark for me now it will work in the summer. Either way these powders don't have much coverage in terms of how opaque they are. They just give your skin this beautiful healthy glow that isn't nearly as dramatic as a highlighter. I have been using Dew Me for months and I just love the look it gives to my skin. I have worn it on bare skin for a fresh faced no makeup look and I have also layered it on top of concealer and pressed powder on days I am going out to dinner or somewhere and have a full face of makeup on. These powders are so finely milled and aren't shimmery at all. The best way I can describe it is that they make your skin have a subtle healthy glow. I should have reviewed this product all by itself but either way I highly recommend this specific product in the set.
Mini Accent Light Highlighter in Iced ($16.00 value)
Here is what is said about this product on the Ulta site:
Here is what is said about this product on the Ulta site:
"The Jaclyn Cosmetics Accent Light Highlighter gives you light with every swipe.
Features
- Hand-poured in Italy for a unique pattern in each pan
- Shimmering
- Creamy
- Buildable"
On to my thoughts:
This product was the other reason I decided to purchase this set. The shade is described as a lustrous iced champagne. Jaclyn's highlighters are some of the best on the market. They are so finely milled and apply so beautifully to the skin with no glitter or shimmer. I purchase her highlighter palette when it first came out and this is the shade that I used the most often. I thought having this mini would be convenient for travel and for when I don't feel like pulling out the big palette to use. I love using this shade on the inner corners of my eyes. The full size of this highlighter is $29.00 but her mini is a good size at $16.00. I picked up another mini in Awestruck which is a blushing rose shade not too long ago. These highlighters are another one of Jaclyn's products that I highly recommend.
Poutspoken Liquid Lipstick in Get Real ($20.00 value) and Lip Liner in Praline ($18.00 value)
Here is what is said about the liquid lipstick on the Ulta site:
"Stand out and be Poutspoken with Jaclyn Cosmetics' long-wearing Poutspoken Liquid Lipstick in luxe matte shades. This buildable formula features breakthrough technology to give you unstoppable color that stays put on your pout. Here is what is said about the liquid lipstick on the Ulta site:
Features
- Long-wearing
- Creamy
- High-pigment color
- Poutspoken Liquid Lipstick features a soft cake batter scent, that's sweet yet subtle.
Key Ingredients
- Synthetic beeswax
- Vitamin A
- Vitamin E
- Avocado oil"
On to my thoughts:
I have purchased Jaclyn's liquid lipsticks in the past and they honestly weren't my favorite. The colors were nice, they smell great, and they are long wearing, however they make my lips look really wrinkly which is strange. I know other people that love her liquid lipsticks they just don't work for me personally. This shade in Get Real is a medium warm nude which is a color that I gravitate towards. I gave it another shot and they still accentuate the lines on my lips. I don't get it. Either way it wasn't a huge deal because I didn't buy this set specifically for the liquid lipstick. This set allows you to try it for a fraction of the cost which is a huge plus.
Here is what is said about the lip liner on the Ulta site:
"Line and define your perfect pout with this super creamy, high-pigment Poutspoken Lip Liner by Jaclyn Cosmetics. Developed to pair with Poutspoken Liquid Lipstick, this precise pencil easily glides to give you a clean, sculpted lip contour in a soft matte finish."On to my thoughts:
This shade is described as a warm spiced pink. It looked nice paired with the liquid lipstick and was a shade that I would wear often with other lipsticks. I really like Jaclyn's lip liners. They are very true to their claims of being pigmented and creamy. I have a few other lip liners from her brand and this one is the same formula and performance.
Here is a swatch of the liquid lipstick and lip liner:
Overall, I totally recommend this kit. I think that it is an amazing value considering how much each product costs on their own. Of the four products in the set the only miss for me was the liquid lipstick. That being said I am still very happy that I purchased the set because I love the other three products.
