Hey Guys,
I know it's been forever since I posted on here. I had my son unexpectedly 5 weeks early back on June 28th and things happened really quick. I have spent the last 6 weeks in the hospital then at home adjusting to being a new mom and trying to get this new schedule. I have had a hard time finding extra time in the day to dedicate to blogging. However, I am starting to find little bits of time that I can take to work on blog/Instagram stuff. My son was 5lbs 11oz and he is now finally able to use the baby wraps and carriers that allow me to have my hands back for some parts of the day.
I have been saying for months that I would share his nursery and it is FINALLY finished. My family and I were joking with Colin about how he had to stop procrastinating and put together the baby furniture because we only had a couple months before the baby was here. Little did we know he would be coming a week later! After Caleb was born we got to take sometime and buy some additional décor for his room. I was also able to order the custom name sign off etsy since we didn't decide on his name until he was born. Keep reading to check out my mood board that I created and the finished nursery. I will link all products shown in the mood board and in his nursery at the bottom of this post under "SHOP THIS POST".
MOOD BOARD:
All of these products in this collage were taken off of my baby registry. My sister and the people that helped throw my shower actually purchased some of the nursery decor from my registry for the shower décor. She took inspiration from my collage to also use that as the theme for my baby shower. I thought it was a great idea because instead of just throwing away a bunch of paper décor, it was actually used in his nursery.
Below are a bunch of pictures from the nursery:
The crib was something I had such a hard time finding. I wanted something not too gray but also not too brown. This crib is almost a taupe/beige color. It looks different in different pictures below but it has both gray and tan tones in it. Having such a unique colored crib I had a hard time finding other pieces to match it exactly besides the matching dresser. That being said having mixed wood colors kind of goes with the theme and ended up working out. The crib was on back order forever but I am so glad that I waited because it is really nice. I love the rustic look of it and it converts into a toddler and queen size bed.
I got this sign off of etsy. I linked it below. I knew I wanted to do a name sign but I had a TON that I had saved. I didn't end up deciding on this one until after Caleb was born. What I liked about this specific seller is that you can go onto their website and create the sign yourself with fonts, texts, colors etc and see how it would look before purchasing it. You can also decide to order directly off their site instead of on etsy. They also offer free shipping. If you aren't a fan of the shiplap style they had plain wood too. They offered so many different stains, fonts, and colors. I was really happy with the finished product.
The theme for the nursery was "woodland" or "forest". I want to have a woodland creature nursery with more of a rustic vibe than a kiddie/childish vibe. I was really happy with all of the pieces that I found as I feel like everything came together really nice. Even though Baby Yoda doesn't necessarily fit in with the theme, his color scheme allowed him to fit in.
Because babies soil things pretty quickly I made sure to find a few different "rustic" fitted sheets and changing table sheets. Check out the "SHOP THIS POST" below to see the other sheet sets that I purchased to fit in with the theme. I love the birch sheet that I found as it will be really nice for winter since it is fleece. The birch print storage bins and hamper were such a great find. They are such good quality and work perfectly with the changing table. If you don't own a Diaper Genie it's a great option for the nursery considering how many dirty diapers you will be changing. We also decided to purchase one for my living room to keep next to the pack and play since there is a changing table on top of that as well.
I was surprised at how much space I had in this room once I started setting stuff up. It fits everything very well without being too cramped.
The glider is probably the most useful product in the room that has gotten the most use so far. We use it every single day not only to feed Caleb but I normally have my pump set up on the table next to it and pump in there every day as well. It is very comfortable and Caleb loves being rocked in it. The lamp set that I found was super affordable and came with this tall lamp and two smaller lamps which I put on his dresser.
I also love this décor on the other wall near the shelves. This little corner is so cozy and fits the theme so well.
Another product that I want to mention is the little white gadget on top of the corner shelving. It's a lamp/white noise machine and is awesome! You can control it from your phone and from the device. It has so many color options and sound options. This is also something that we use nightly to soothe Caleb and help him get sleepy.
As mentioned, the dresser matched the crib and is from the same manufacturer. The lamps were a set with the standing lamp.
All of the little décor pieces were very affordable and came from Amazon and Hobby Lobby.
The rug is so soft and the color matches the curtains perfectly. Both from Amazon. Jax wanted to get in a few pictures and looks really cute here. He's been a great big brother always concerned when Caleb cries. He also walks around checking in Caleb's swing to find out where he is and lays close by him when he finds him.

Overall, I was extremely happy with how Caleb's Nursery turned out. I loved seeing my vision come to life. I hope you enjoyed the tour of his nursery! Feel free to DM me on Instagram if you have any questions.
