Review: Ipsy Glam Bag Plus July 2021

Today I'm going to share my thoughts on my Ipsy Glam Bag Plus for July! For those of you unfamiliar with Ipsy Glam Bag, it is a monthly beauty subscription box. You receive 5 deluxe/sample sized products each month. The subscription is $12.00 a month and usually has a theme. They also offer an upgraded box every month called Ipsy Glam Bag Plus. This box is $25.00 a month and includes 5 full sized products. You are able to choose 3 of the products in your box and Ipsy chooses 2 for you. Ipsy's picks are based of your beauty quiz/product reviews. They also offer a quarterly upgrade from your Glam Bag Plus called Glam Bag X. This box is $55.00 a quarter and includes 7-8 full sized products from higher end brands. All three subscriptions come with a themed makeup bag each month (different sizes per subscription type). For Glam Bag you are able to pick two items in your bag. With all subscriptions you also have the option to skip a month whenever you feel like it which is a huge bonus offering. I am currently subscribed to Ipsy Glam Bag Plus. The theme for this month's bag is "Stay Golden". Keep reading to see what I got in my bag this month! Half Caked Your Eyes Only Palette $16.00

This is the first product that I chose for my bag. I have tried a few other products from Half Caked but never any eyeshadows. I liked that this palette was mostly neutral and a mix of mattes and shimmers. The mattes were okay. They could have been a little more pigmented. The shimmers are so pretty! Definitely impressed with the shimmers in this palette.

Basic Beauty Bronze AF Palette $30.00

This was the second item that I chose for my bag. This palette is a trio of matte bronzers. It's nice! I like that this palette will work for me in both the summer and winter. They apply really nice and blend well. They aren't too orange or muddy looking either.

Il Makiage Black Card Lift, Curl, and Lengthen Mascara $25.00

This was the first item that Ipsy chose for me. I haven't tried any products from Il Makiage and was excited to get this! I really like this mascara! The brush is unique and makes it really easy to grab and separate all my lashes without clumping them together. It gives nice length and volume. This is probably my favorite mascara that I have tried in a long time.

Tula Skincare Rose Glow & Get It Cooling & Brightening Eye Balm $30.00

This is the second item that Ipsy chose for my bag. I actually already have this product. I got it in one of my BoxyCharm boxes. It does have a nice cooling feeling and subtly brightens your under eyes but from what I remember I don't think my makeup layered well on top of it. I don't reach for it alot so I will most likely save this for a giveaway.

Fenty Beauty Stunna Lip Paint Longwear Fluid Lip Color in Uncuffed $25.00

This is the last item that I chose for my bag. I was happy to see a more neutral lip shade offered in my choices. I have never tried any of these Fenty Beauty liquid lipsticks so I was excited to try this out as well. The applicator is definitely unique and can be a little tricky. For people with smaller lips like myself, I suggest lining your lips with a lip liner first to make filling them in with the lipstick easier. The color is so pretty and the formula is great. It is very pigmented and doesn't feel drying or uncomfortable. I would call it a demi matte finish. Its pretty long wearing but you do need to reapply after eating.

IPSY PROMOTIONS
Ipsy offers discounts and cash back on brands/products featured in each month's glam bag. You are able to purchase full sized products that are sampled/or featured in the Glam Bag that month. The products are discounted from normal price and you can get cash bag on the purchase. They also offer "Ipsy Offers" that are discounted beauty bundles from different brands. You are also allowed to add "Add Ons" to your Glam Bag Plus which are other items featured that month that are not part of your personal box. These items are heavily discounted. Lastly, they offer "Mystery Bags" which again are bags of heavily discounted products.

BaubleBar Huggie Set

They had this BaubleBar set in the add ons for $18.00 (I think). BaubleBar is a pricier jewelry brand so I took advantage of the discount offered. I couldn't find the exact set but a similar set was selling for $78.00 on their site. These huggies are so cute and I'm so glad that I picked the set up. Shades By Shan Eyeshadow Duo

I also cashed in some of my Ipsy points as they were starting to expire. This little duo looked pretty and I liked the Shades By Shan palette that I got in a previous Ipsy bag.

Overall, I was very happy with this month's bag! I will use almost everything in it and think that the choice options were great. I am the most excited about the Il Makiage mascara and Fenty Beauty liquid lipstick. I can't wait to see next month's bag.
