Hey Guys,
Today I'm going to share my thoughts on my Ipsy Glam Bag Plus for January! For those of you unfamiliar with Ipsy Glam Bag, it is a monthly beauty subscription box. You receive 5 deluxe/sample sized products each month. The subscription is $12.00 a month and usually has a theme. They also offer an upgraded box every month called Ipsy Glam Bag Plus. This box is $25.00 a month and includes 5 FULL SIZED products. You are able to choose 3 of the products in your box and Ipsy chooses 2 for you. Ipsy's picks are based of your beauty quiz/product reviews. They recently discontinued Ipsy Glam Bag Ultimate and replaced it with a quarterly upgrade called Glam Bag X. This box is $50.00 a month and includes 8 FULL SIZED products from higher end brands. I am currently only subscribed to Ipsy Glam Bag Plus. All three subscriptions come with a themed makeup bag each month (different sizes per subscription type). For Glam Bag Plus, you get your products in a drawstring bag which is also themed. For Glam Bag you are able to pick two items in your bag. You are also able to skip a month whenever you feel like it which is a huge bonus offering. The theme for this month's bag is "Dream It". Keep reading to see what I got in my bag this month!
Here are the products that I received:
This was the first item that Ipsy chose for me. Normally, I would love to get an Ofra Highlighter since they are some of the best on the market. However, I already own this. I will be saving this for a giveaway or will be selling it on Poshmark.
This is the first item that I chose for my bag. I thought the shades looked nice and I love my eyeshadow palette from this brand. The colors are nice and its a great subtle highlight for every day. However, I wish the powders were more finely milled.
This is the second item that I chose for my bag. I have never tried any Ofra liquid eyeshadows and this one looked pretty. The shade is very pretty but it took quite a while to dry. I found it hard to work with because of this and layering was tough. When I tried to layer more shadow I feel like it took off that layer beneath.
Here is a swatch of this eyeshadow:
This is the second item that Ipsy chose for me. Its actually a set of brow tools. I have a ton of brow spoolies and already own a good pair of brow scissors however it will be nice to have a backup pair of tweezers.
This is the last item that I chose for my bag. I already have a ton of brushes but I didn't like the other choices. Adding more blending brushes to my collection isn't the worst thing.
The bag is cute and the blue gives me winter vibes. It also reminds me of the girl group Dream from the early 2000s. Anyone remember them?
IPSY PROMOTIONS
Ipsy offers discounts and cash back on brands/products featured in each month's glam bag. You are able to purchase full sized products that are sampled/or featured in the Glam Bag that month. The products are discounted from normal price and you can get cash bag on the purchase. They also offer "Ipsy Offers"that are discounted beauty bundles from different brands. Lastly, you are allowed to add "Add Ons" to your Glam Bag Plus which are other items featured that month that are not part of your personal box. These items are heavily discounted. Lastly, they offer "Mystery Bags".
Overall, this wasn't my favorite bag but it wasn't a total fail either. The whole point of getting these subscriptions is to try new brands/products at a huge discount and that is what I am doing. I look forward to choosing my items for February next week!
