Hey Guys!
Today I'm going to share my thoughts on my GBP for September! For those of you unfamiliar with Ipsy Glam Bag, it is a monthly beauty subscription box. You receive 5 deluxe/sample sized products each month. The subscription is $12.00 a month and usually has a theme. They also offer an upgraded box every month called Ipsy Glam Bag Plus. This box is $25.00 a month and includes 5 FULL SIZED products. They also just released yet ANOTHER box called Ipsy Ultimate which I believe was created to compete with BoxyLuxe. This box is $50.00 a MONTH and included 8 FULL SIZED products and 4 deluxe/sample sized products. I am currently only subscribed to Ipsy Glam Bag Plus. Starting in October ALL boxes will come with a makeup bag and we will be able to pick one product in our box (GBP & GBU). Glam Bag you will be able to pick two.
The theme for September is "Discover Yourself". There was one item that I saw in the spoilers that I was hoping to get! Keep reading to see what I got and to hear my thoughts. Also, make sure to check out the discount codes below for the month!
Ipsy Glam Bag Plus September 2019 "Discover Yourself"
Ofra x Madison Miller Squad Palette $35.00
This was the one item that I was really hoping I would get in my Glam Bag Plus. I was super excited to see that I actually got it. Ofra highlighters are some of the best out there. The two highlighters are super pretty and I would defiitely wear both shades. The blush is a pretty neutral that is something that I would wear. This palette is great for traveling as well.
Here are swatches of the palette:
Wander Beauty Wanderess Seascape Eyeshadow Palette $25.00
I haven't tried too much from Wander Beauty. This palette is pretty but I feel like its too shimmery overall. There needs to be one or two more matte shades. The shadows have nice pigmentation when applied with your finger. They held up for most of the day but did crease/fade a bit. I don't hate this palette but I also don't love it. It's not something I will reach for often so I may pass on to a friend.
Ciate London Extraordinary Translucent Powder $22.00
I haven't tried this loose powder yet because white powders always make my undereye look gray. I have heard that it's a nice setting powder so I will have to try it out soon.
This color is not something I would ever wear. I am saving this for a giveaway.
I love all types of masks so I was happy to get this. It looks really cool when applied and I can't wait to try it.
TOTAL VALUE: $131.00IPSY PROMOTIONS
Ipsy does their promotions different than BoxyCharm. Instead of offering discount codes for purchases on the featured brands websites, they offer cash back on products featured in that month's glam bag. You are able to purchase full sized products at are sampled in the Glam Bag that month. The products are discounted from normal price and you can get cash back on the purchase. They also offer "Ipsy Offers"that are discounted beauty bundles from different brands. Lastly, you are allowed to add "Add Ons" to your Glam Bag Plus which are other items featured that month that are not part of your personal box. These items are heavily discounted. Lastly, they offer "Mystery Bags".
Overall this bag was good but not great. The value definitely exceeds the cost. The items that I am most excited about are the Ofra x Madison Miller Palette and the Disco Kitten Mask. I'm still unsure about Ipsy Glam Bag Plus. I know I can't keep both Ipsy and Boxy subscriptions so I am going to have to make a cut at some point.
