Hey Guys,
Today I'm going to share a review of the Younique Moodstruck 3D Fiber Lash and the Epic Mascara. Before I get into the review I wanted to finally announce that I have decided to become a Younique Presenter. I announced it about a month ago on my personal Facebook and to my family and friends. I decided to wait to announce it on my blog for a few reasons. The first is because I wanted to have a solid review ready before I make my announcement on here. I also want to keep it SOMEWHAT separate in the sense that I don't want my readers to think that ALL they are going to see on my blog going forward are Younique reviews. While I am going to mix in some posts about Younique products, I am also going to continue to review and post about all different beauty brands. I will also continue my fashion posts as well. That being said, I will always be honest about products that I love and don't love. If you have followed me for a while you will know that I don't completely rip apart products that I don't like. If something doesn't work for me personally then I say it but that doesn't mean don't try it for yourself. There are things people LOVE that I really don't like and vice versa. The same goes with Younique products. There will be products that I love and others that you may see in my monthly Favorites & Flops.
So why did I join Younique? I have been blogging since 2013 with very little monetary reward. Do I get free products from time to time? Yes. But I am not making a steady income with blogging or YouTube. I'm also at a point in my life where I am an ready for a change. I have worked at the same 8-5 job for ten years doing administrative work and wanted to try something different. Beauty has always been a huge passion in my life. I worked at the Estee Lauder counter at Macy's back in college then started working in an administrative role at an IT company once I was almost finished with college. Now, ten years later, beauty is still a very big interest of mine. However, working at Sephora or Ulta just won't pay my bills and the hours aren't attractive to me. I am very much a business woman so I decided to try something different. A mix of beauty and business. Where this journey will take me? I have no idea but I decided taking a chance and trying something is better than doing nothing at all. I was also really inspired and touched by the story behind Younique. You can watch a short video of the CEO Derek Maxfield explaining why and how he started Younique HERE.
That being said, expect to see a review on Younique products from time to time. If you are interested in becoming a Younique Presenter, hosting an online party, or if you have any questions about the business model or products, feel free to email me or DM me on Facebook or Instagram! I have a Facebook group that anyone is more than welcome to join where I discuss the products and share current promotions. You can also check out the product line on my website www.tanyasbeautycorner.com
Now on to the review! So I originally reviewed Younique's Moodstruck 3D Fiber Lashes back in 2015 which you can check out HERE. I was a huge fan of the product when I first tried it. Younique ended up having to change the formula when the manufacturer started selling their product to 3rd parties. I bought the second formula and honestly wasn't a fan. The formula was really dry and didn't produce the same results. A Younique presenter ended up adding me on Facebook 6 months to a year ago. I read her posts about the products here and there and finally reached out with questions about the current formula. I wanted to give the 3D Fiber Lash another try but was hesitant. I asked about their return policy in case I didn't love it again. She must have seen something in me because she offered to send me the 3D Fiber Lashes for free but also wanted to send me their other best selling product which is their Moodstruck Epic Mascara. Below I will briefly review both the 3D Fiber Lashs and Epic Mascara. I will also share some photos of my results.
Younique Moodstruck 3D Fiber Lashes $29.00
Here is what is said about this product on the Younique Site:
* Averaged results observed in independent laboratory testing, when compared against bare lashes. Two coats provide up to a 900% increase in average volume."
On to my thoughts:
The fiber lashes come with two products. The fibers and the transplanting gel. It's basically a 3 step process that you can do once or more than once. It's all about preference and how much drama you want to add to your lashes. The process is as follows; Step 1: Apply the transplanting Gel. Step 2: Apply the fibers. Step 3: Seal in the fibers by applying the transplanting gel again. I usually do this process 2x to get a look at I am happy with.
That being said, I don' love the transplanting gel on its own. With the original formula I used my L'Oreal Mascara then applied the transplanting gel, fibers, and transplanting gel. With this new formula the brush on the transplanting gel isn't my favorite. The spoolie is too spaced out for my personal preference. Even with this instance, it still gives me lashes more drama than with regular mascara alone. However, I was talking with the Younique Presenter and she told me to try the Epic mascara in place of the transplanting gel. So, instead of doing transplanting gel, fibers, transplanting gel. I completely skipped on the transplanting gel and did epic mascara, fibers, epic mascara. After trying it this way I was VERY pleased with the results. This combo definitely gives WAY more drama than just using a mascara all by itself. With two coats, my lashes look thick, long, and gives the look of falsies without the fuss.
Younique Moodstruck Epic Mascara $24.00
Here is what is said about this product on the Younique site:
"For a look as timeless as you are. MOODSTRUCK EPIC™ mascara is a multi-effect wonder, adding proven volume, length, and clump-free curl. The brush features intermingling high and low density bristles that grip lashes at their root, maximizing definition and volume, and the tapered tip allows for defining and thickening even your tiniest, hard-to-reach lashes with precision and control. This easily buildable formula also acts as the perfect first step for our MOODSTRUCK 3D FIBER LASHES+™ lash enhancer for the most extreme eyelashes ever."
On to my thoughts:
Many people LOVE this mascara all by itself. It gives people tons of length and volume. For me, I like it but it's not my favorite mascara that I have tried. It definitely gives me some volume but not a ton of length. It gives a more natural look to my lashes. I do really like the spoolie/brush and how close the bristles are. It does make it so that you are able to get most if not all of your lashes when applying the product. As mentioned before, I do LOVE how it looks paired with the 3D Fiber Lashes. I have tried some of my other mascaras with the 3D Fiber lashes and I think this mascara works the best with them. UPDATE: After using this mascara for the past two months it has really grown on me. I think my lashes look different than the first few times I used it. I really like how it separates my lashes and I think its great for everyday. I have also been using the Esteem Lash Serum which I think also contributes to the difference in my lashes. I love this mascara so much that I signed up for our new mascara subscription to get it every 60 days.
Younique has a set called the Totally Pumped Duo that comes with both the Epic Mascara and the 3D Fiber Lashes for $47.00. You are able to save some money by purchasing the set instead of buying each of the products separately.

Overall, I am really happy that I gave the 3D Fiber Lashes another try. I am also glad that I didn't just give up on my first try and I tried them paired with the Epic Mascara. This combo is my go to when I want a dramatic look when going out on the weekends.
Have you tried either of these Younique products before? What do you think of my results? Post your comments below!
