Hey Guys,
Today I am going to share my final Essence Makeup favorites post. I will be sharing my favorite eye and brow products from a bunch of goodies that I received from Essence over the past few months. You can check out my favorite lip products HERE and face product HERE. If you want to check out their new Fall/Winter 2017 Collections you can see them HERE and HERE. Keep reading to check out the eye and brow products that were a hit for me!
I don't know about you but tiny things fascinate me. This kit is super cute but more importantly it is convenient, travel friendly, and is actually a good little brow kit.
This kit comes with 3 items for grooming your brows. Tweezers for shaping, an angled brow brush for contouring, and a spoolie for sculpting. I think all 3 little tools work very well. The tweezers surprised me especially. They do a great job at grasping on to hairs that allows you to pluck the hairs easily. I have had many full sized tweezers that just can't get a good grip on the hair. I think this kit is great for throwing in your purse for touch ups throughout the day. There have been times I've been in my car in the sunlight and I see a stray hair I need to pluck or an eyebrow that needs to be brushed back in place. Not everyone may like the tiny size. However, they are meant to be travel friendly.
Make Me Brow Duo Eyebrow Powder $3.49
This brow powder duo comes in two colors Mix It Blonde and Mix It Brunette. Each brow powder comes with two shades. This specific duo is the Mix It Brunette. This duo have decent pigmentation and are easy to work with. I like to mix the two powders to create a custom shade. This duo works well with the next brow product that I am going to discuss.
Here are swatches of the two brow shades:
Make Me Brow $2.99
This little guy has been part of my daily makeup routine for over a year. I don't quite remember the first time that I bought this colored brow gel but I have gone through 3 or 4 tubes of it. It comes is 3 shades; Blondy Brows, Browy Brows, and Soft Browny Brows. The color that I use is Browny Brows. This product is very similar to Benefit's Gimme Brow but a fraction of the cost. The brow gel contains tiny fibers to fill in gaps to create a fuller brow. I love the tiny brow wand/spoolie that you apply the product with. It allows for more precise application and less mess getting the gel on your skin or eye makeup. This is definitely a Holy Grail product for me and I will continue to purchase it over and over.

This is a brightening eyeshadow base. It helps take away discoloration to the lids and also helps create a smooth canvas for shadow. Your shadows look more pigmented with this base and it also helps prevent creasing. I do suggest setting this base with a loose powder before applying shadows. It is a great drugstore alternative to the more high end shadows bases.

The Velvets Eyeshadow $2.49
The Velvets are a matte line of shadows. They are super soft and blend really nice. They come in 9 shades. All but one are more neutrals shades. These have good pigmentation. They get the best color payoff with a primer and are buildable. I didn't notice any creasing. The lighter shades are great as brow highlights or all over lid colors. I have been using Fluffy Clouds and Smooth Caramel as brow bone shades. Almost peachy is a great lid shade or very light transition shade. You Better Mauve is such a pretty crease or transition shade. Mr. Mocca-Bean I have been using as a crease color and on my lower lash line. All of the shadows have this same checkered pattern stamped onto them.
Here are the shadows pictured and mentioned above:
L-R: Fluffy Clouds, Smooth Caramel, Almost Peachy, You Better Mauve!, & Mr. Mocca-Bean
These eyeshadows are more of a shimmery/satin finish compared to the Velvets. They come in 12 shades and apply best with your fingers. I think that once the top layer of these shadows wear off, the shadow are more soft and pigmented. I aleady owned the shade All I Need before these were sent to me. Its a pretty shimmery taupe shade that I love to use for an all over lid color. I think all of these simmer shadows are best used as lid shades, inner corner highlights, or accent shadows. As with any eyeshadow, they get the best color payoff with used with a shadow base.

L-R: The Grammy Goes Glammy, Keep Calm and Berry On, All I Need, & Triple Choc
Shape & Shadows Eye Contouring Palette $9.99
If you are looking for a multi-tasking product then you have found it. This is a brow and shadow palette. It contains three matte shadows, two shimmer shadows, a brow wax, and a tiny brow brush/spoolie.
It comes with a little mirror on the inside. I think the packaging is really cute. The shadows work decent as brow powders and I like that they have three different color browns that you can mix and create a custom brow color. The wax works pretty well too. The brow brush and spoolie isn't my favorite but it's nice they included one. What I really like are these shadows on the eyes. The shimmery shadows are very pretty and have really nice pigmentation. They apply the most pigmented with your fingers but you can also use a brush. I used the lightest matte brow shade (Hazel Grooe) as a transition color, the bronze shade (Marilyn Metallic) as a lid shade, and the highlight shade (Highlighter Billie Vanilli) on my inner corners. I was pretty impressed with this little palette as I was not expecting the shadows to stay as pigmented as they did throughout the day. I also didn't notice any creasing.
