Hey Guys,
I'm back to share my favorites from the Essence Makeup Fall/Winter 2017 Collection. For those of you that missed my original post listing all their new products launching, you can check it out HERE. I've been testing out all of the products over the past few weeks. Keep reading to see which products were my favorite from the bunch!
Metal Shock Lipsticks $4.99
"This creamy lipstick sets to a brilliant metallic finish without drying lips. Available in 8 shades from rose gold to emerald green." Launches in August.
I thought that these were really cool and fun. I think the metallic lip trend is going to be big this fall. These lipsticks are creamy and have nice pigmentation that is buildable. These are an affordable option if you're not sure if you like this trend and want to try it out. Also, if you already know you love the trend and want to try out all the different colors and not break the bank.
Shine Shine Shine Wet Look Lip Gloss $2.99
"This high-shine, wet-look gloss glides on smooth with a highly-pigmented finish. The flocked applicator ensures precise application. Available in 6 shades." Now available.
For those of you that love lip gloss but hate the stickiness, these are the glosses for you! They feel really nice on the lips and aren't sticky at all. These also make your lips look really pouty and full. The wear time on these aren't super long but I don't find that glosses last that long anyways. Below is a picture of me wearing 07 Happiness in a Bottle.
"This new formula goes on smooth with serious color pay-off and a metallic shimmer. Available in 9 shades ranging from soft bronze to vibrant teal." Online Only. Now available.
These shadows are so soft and apply really nice with your fingers. They last all day with minimal creasing. I highly suggest using a primer or (I Love Strobing) for a more pigmented look.
Light Up Your Eyes! Inner Rim Eye Pencil $1.99
"This new matte eye pencil instantly opens eyes and was specifically created for the waterline so it won’t smudge or flake. Available in 2 natural shades." Online Only. Now available.
These work really well on the waterline and are really pigmented. I have been using these non stop since I first got them. I really like wearing white or nude on my waterline to give me a more opened eyed/awake look.
"This new waterproof pencil glides on smooth without tugging or skipping. Available in 6 shades." Launches in July.
These are super creamy and pigmented. I like the pencils above for my waterline. I love this nude even more. Its just as pigmented as the pencils above but are a bit more creamy for an easier application. I like all of these pencils just as much if not more than my ColourPop ones. The best part is they are less than $5.00 each and more readily available since you can get them in stores.
Camouflage Full Coverage Concealer $3.99
"This longlasting, full coverage formula effectively camouflages dark circles and skin imperfections without a
cakey finish. Available in 2 shades." Launches in September.
I really like this concealer! Its creamy and blends out really nice. I would call this more of a medium coverage concealer than a full coverage concealer. It does a pretty good job at concealing my dark circles and brightening my undereyes. I have been using this along with a darker concealer and a peach corrector for my everyday makeup routine.
"Apply this creamy base on lids for a longlasting shadow look that won’t flake or crease. Wear it as a base to add a pop of glamour to any shadow or alone for a hint of highlight." Now available.
This is a great shadow base. It applies nice and evenly and gives a nice slight shimmer to your lids. You can wear it alone for a simple makeup look or apply shadow on top.
"Transform the shade of your lipstick and create an ombre effect, add dimension and create a “bitten” effect. Available in dark to add definition and light to fade and highlight." Online Only. Launches in August
This is a really cool product that allows you to transform your lip color and also create an ombre effect. In the picture below you can see the white by itself, the lipstick on the right, and the color it creates when its mixed with the white.
Instant Matt Makeup Setting Spray $4.99
"This ultra-light, transparent mist sprays on top of makeup and dries as a protective veil.
Enriched with a natural mattifying complex to refresh your complexion and eliminate shine
and oil. Fragrance free" Launches in July.
and suitable for all skin types
This is a really decent setting spray! The mist is on the wet side however I just lightly fan my face and it dries quickly. It does a great job at keeping my makeup matte and in place all day. Given the price tag its a great product and does the job! I like to use a more inexpensive setting spray during the weekday and save my more expensive ones for the weekends to make them last longer.
"These new color correcting sticks target every skin concern from dark circles, redness and dull-looking skin. The creamy, gel-like texture glides on seamlessly and blends like a dream. Available in 5 shades" Now available.
01. pink:
visibly brightens tired skin.
apply directly on imperfections & blend.
02. yellow:
conceals dark circles.
apply directly on imperfections & blend.
03. peach:
neutralizes dark spots.
05. lavender:
eliminates dullness & harmonizes skin tone.
apply directly on imperfections & blend.
These color correcting sticks are really creamy and blend out really nicely. I'm not an expert at color correcting but I know the basics. The colors I use most are the green for redness and blemishes, and the peach and yellow for my dark circles. I like to mix the peachy and yellow tones since my dark circles are pretty visible. Below I wanted to show a little before and after of what the color correcting looks like BEFORE foundation is applied. As you can see, it does a pretty decent job and blends out pretty well. On days that you don't want to do a full makeup look you can use these and apply a little powder or bb cream and be done.
Before
After
I really like this mascara. It applies to the lashes without clumping and creates an open eyed look. I like how it fans my lashes out and creates nice volume. The brush is really unique and is flat on one side. It doesn't leave any flakes on my face which is a plus.
I hope that you enjoyed learning about my favorite products from the new Essence Makeup Fall/Winter 2017 Collection. I highly suggest you try some of these products for yourself to see how they work for you!
