Hey Guys,
Today I am going to share my BoxyCharm for June. I normally do unboxing videos but they get such a small amount of views that I'm not going to bother doing them anymore. I was really excited about this box when I saw the spoilers. For those of you unfamiliar with BoxyCharm, it is a monthly beauty subscription box. You receive 4-5 FULL SIZED products each month. The subscription is $21.00 a month and usually has a theme. The theme for the month of June was "Downtown Charm". Keep reading below to hear my thoughts on each product and to check out the featured brand discount codes this month.
RealHer Eyeshadow Palette I $28.00
There were three different palettes sent out this month. Book I. II., and III. I really wish they would just send everyone the same product or give us the option to pick. I really wanted book I. because it was a warm neutral palette with a mixture of matte tans/browns as well as shimmer. This palette has no matte brow highlight or transition. The only matte colors are Strong which is a grayish-purple and Smart which is a black. I haven't read/seen great things about the pigmentation of these palettes so I didn't even bother swatching.
Artist Couture Diamond Glow Powder in Illuminati $26.99
This is a light silver and champagne loose powder highlight. I feel like I have gotten a ton of highlighters in my BoxyCharm box since subbing in October. I don't have any loose powder ones so I guess this is different. However, I really don't like loose powder products in general besides my under eye setting powder. The color is pretty but its very sparkly and I know I won't reach for it.
Luxie Beauty Rose Gold Pro Precision Tapered Face Brush 640 $24.00
I was excited about getting this brush because I really like the other Luxie brushes that I got in previous boxes. The bristles are very soft and fluffy. I don't have anything quite like this. I have a smaller BDellium brush that kinda looks like this that I use for applying translucent powder to my under eyes. I read this is for applying highlighter but I feel like its too flimsy? Any idea what else you can use this brush for?
Ofra Cosmetics Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick in Santa Ana $19.90
There were two different lipsticks sent out as well this month. This one which is a berry color and Tuscany which is a wine/mauve color. I really wanted Tuscany because I thought it was more of a wearable color for me. This is bright but not as bright as I thought it was going to be. I know I won't wear it that often because I just don't wear berry shades but I do love the formula and scent so much!
I was really happy to see these sheet masks. I love trying different types of masks. I also really like that they gave us 3 different types of sheet masks. I am really interested in the primer one.
Here are swatches of the Artist Couture Highlighter and Ofra Liquid Lipstick:
Total Value: $113.86

While I do think this is a great value and am not upset about my box, I do have mixed feelings about it. The effort is there which I do appreciate. I just wish that we were able to pick if there are color options or just send us all the same products. I know Ipsy was the same way with products selection and I didn't like that either. However, they did have a beauty quiz to try to help match you up with products and colors you would like. The palette was disappointing but I just got my MorphexJaclynHill palette so I really don't care LOL. I still think BoxyCharm is a way better value than Ipsy by far and look forward to next month's box. So far, we are getting a blinc Cosmetics x BoxyCharm eyeshadow palette which you can see HERE (the swatches are gorgeous!) and a bareMinerals Prep Step Broad Spectrum SPF 50 primer. It looks like we might be getting a second bareMinerals product as well!
