Hey Guys,
Today I am going to share my thoughts on the BH Cosmetics brush set that Colin got me for Christmas. I have been using it for a few weeks and am ready to share my thoughts!
Today I am going to share my thoughts on the BH Cosmetics brush set that Colin got me for Christmas. I have been using it for a few weeks and am ready to share my thoughts!
The brushes are cruelty free and synthetic. At first glance, the brushes feel really luxurious and high quality. The fact that they are made out of metal really adds to this. The case is really nice too and is pretty big.
Here is what is said about this set on the BH Cosmetics site:
"Our Metal Rose - 11 Piece Brush Set, a comprehensive collection of versatile rose gold makeup brushes that allow you to create full-face looks like a pro. The ultra-soft, synthetic bristles can be used with liquids, creams and powders to achieve perfect placement, easy blending, and flawless application every time. The set adds a sophisticated touch to your makeup table and comes in a matching rose gold zip-top vinyl case that is convenient for storage and travel."
Here are close ups of the bag and brushes:
Foundation Brush, Flat Buffer Brush, Powder Brush
Round Smudge Brush, Angled Blending Brush, Blending Brush, Pointed Crease Brush
Lip Brush, Brow/Liner Brush, Oval Shadow Brush, Flat Concealer Brush
There are descriptions and numbers on the site that show which brushes are used for what. These descriptions do not match up to the descriptions/numbers on the actual brushes and box. For example, an oval shadow brush noted above does not match the oval shadow brush that it shows on the site. I found that kinda weird and confusing. Regardless, I didn't use alot of these brushes the way they were "labeled" to.
On to my thoughts:
All of these brushes are super soft. They pick up product with ease and blend the product like a high end makeup brush. I have been solely using all of these brushes instead of my go to Morphe/BDellium/e.l.f./Makeup Geek brushes and I really don't miss them that much! As I mentioned, they feel and look very luxurious and I feel the same way after using them for the past few weeks. I have been using some brushes in ways they aren't necessarily intended for. I have been using the "lip brush" for applying color to the inner corners of my eyes. I have been using the "oval shadow brush" for smudging my lower lash line. I have been using the flat concealer brush for applying color to my lid. I have even used it with Fix+ for a more pigmented and intense eye look. I have a few complaints. I still need to use another blending brush because I feel like the one that comes in here isn't dense or fluffy enough. I wish it was a little bit fuller. I still soften my crease with this brush but I go back at the end with a bigger blending brush. I wish that there was a larger oval/shading brush that was thicker for applying shadow to my lid like my Sigma E55. I wish it came with a blush brush and larger powder brush. I could do without the flat foundation brush. Aside from those very picky complaints, I really am very impressed with this set. I think it is a great value and would definitely purchase more brush sets from BH Cosmetics.
