Hi Ladies!
A couple weeks ago I gave you all a sneak peek of One Direction's new makeup line. It was created by Markwins International which is most known for its brands such as Wet n Wild and Physicans Formula. The band's new makeup like is called Make Up by One Direction. I am not too familiar with One Direction but I grew up in the 90's and was a HUGE fan of boy bands. I had posters of N'SYNC and Backstreet Boys plastered all over my bedroom walls. I had tons of memorabilia but the only makeup based products that I remember were scented lip balms. If the boy bands of my generation had cool make up kits like these, I would have been all over it!
To read more about the different limited edition makeup kits by One Direction, you can check out my first post HERE.
I was lucky enough to get to get the opportunity to test out the "Up All Night" kit. Keep reading to see what's inside and get my thoughts on the products.
The front sleeve with the picture of 1D comes off . Underneath is a metal tin with a brick wall graphic on it.
On the inside, there is a little makeup chart that shows you different eye looks that you can create with the shadows and which ones would look good with different eye colors.
On to the products:
"Na Na Na" Chrome Nail Varnish
This is an aqua blue color with a metallic chrome finish. I thought that this color was really cool.
"Little Black Dress" Volumizing Mascara in Perfectly Black
This mascara gave decent volume. Nothing over the top or too dramatic.
This is a glitter pink lip gloss that glows to neon orange under a UV light. I thought this concept was really cool. The gloss itself has a nice pigmentation. It is more on the glittery side but not sticky. This has about a 2 hour wear time.
"Should Have Kissed You" Creme Lipstick
This is a bubblegum pink matte lipstick. I was really surprised at how pigmented it was. It smells a bit like crayons but it didn't bother me. It its super pigmented but since it is matte, I suggest moisturizing your lips before applying.
"Stand Up" Eye and Body Crayon
This is a dark denim blue crayon. It is also nicely pigmented. It glides on smoothly and it seems like it has great staying power. I had to wipe hard to get the swatch off my hand and there was still a stain left behind.
4+1 Eyeshadow Palette
This palette has three shades of blue and two neutral shades.
"More than This"-soft blushing pink
"Gotta Be You"-silver taupe shimmer
"Save You Tonight"-shimmering turquoise blue
"Another World"-royal blue shimmer
"Up All Night"-sapphire glitter creme
This palette has good pigmentation. Some colors are more pigmented than others. Another World was a little less pigmented than the rest but it still has decent color. The only color I had issues with was the glitter. It is more of a glitter than a creme. I suggest applying this with your finger tips. This would be the best way to get the most color and even application. The colors blend nicely as well.
5 Piece Stencil Set
These stencils are different fun shapes that you can put on your body using the eye and body crayon that comes in this kit.
L-R: I Should Have Kissed You and Taken
Here are swatches of the eye crayon and palette:
L-R: Stand Up, More Than This, Save You Tonight, Gotta Be You, Another World, and Up All Night
Overall, this is a great kit for any tween/teen or 1D fan. This would be a great gift as well. I love that the kit has fun stencils for the younger girls that might be interested in it. I also like that it has a little makeup guide for teens just learning to apply makeup. Lastly, I was really impressed with the lipstick. I love how pigmented it was. This kit retails for $28.50 and will be sold at Macy's and other department stores.
